Prior to completing my internship, I asked the Digital Content Manager (Lisa) who confirmed with the Head of Brand (Claudia) if I could post the work that I’ve done on my portfolio website (copyright concerns I had) and the response was yes I could.
For my internship, I was glad to have landed a spot with Spendless Shoes working as a Graphic Design/ Brand Intern. Given that the graphic and web/digital design area of work is where I am aspiring towards, as the work revolves around being creative and creativity. Spendless Shoes was founded in 1988 and the retail has now grown to 220 stores across Australia selling comfortable and fashionable shoes at a low cost. This internship opportunity gave me a chance to experience working in the industry with the Branding Team, in their head office at Gillman, South Australia. In this office workspace, my role was to help the Branding Team with various tasks which include:
- Creating EDMs (Electronic Direct Mail).
- Photography and photo editing.
- Content creation for social media and other documents.
- Working closely with the Digital Content Manager to ensure that marketing material is consistent.
