This project was designed using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat DC.
My objective in this media kit is to gather all the communications and marketing collateral for the short film: Swingin’ from the Rafters. This media kit included general insights into the short film, a synopsis (one-liner, one paragraph, and a full-page synopsis), crew information and bio, as well as director and producer statements. I managed to collate everything together and made it look pretty.
The Design Process
This media kit’s design shares a lot of its design with the film poster, to maintain consistency between the promotional materials across the board. A few adjustments were made here and there, in order to have distinct visual differences such as the title change (for header), gradients fade and the inclusion of more images. Firstly, the main title still remains the same on the front page to maintain consistency, but within the header, on the following pages the title had to be changed as it would take up too much space limiting space for content. The adjustments made to the title were to reduce the size and re-arranging the text to one line so that it would fit better. Secondly, the gradient fades (maintaining the original background from the poster) were adjusted to a less occupied gradient to allow text and images to be placed in the middle without obstructing the background. Finally, as for my role, behind-the-scenes shots were taken during filming to capture the production process in various places, either to reflect what’s on the page or to present a gallery of shots. All the images were carefully considered (especially in terms of size, placement, and alignment), whilst also looking at adjusting the picture frame and drop shadows.
